Diving

June 25, 2007

PowerPoint is a visual tool. Obvious right? Then stop writing text all over your slides. The objective when you are talking to groups is for the group to feel the experience is about them. Not you and definately not your PowerPoint. Texty slides feels like the person is trying to impress me with information they have managed to put down on the slide. A) No one cares. B) No one will remember. We are not your boss and you are not a rookie, so stop working like one.

Your presentation should be like the experience you are trying so hard to create around your brand. Create an expectation in the minds of your audience, then deliver. It’s like diving off the high boards. The experience is your stomach on the way down and the delivery is the moment you hit the water. Bam.
