Following up from my last post and thinking about responding to a comment (yes, sometimes I think before I write), I came across this little diagram from the ever brilliant Jessica Hagy. Three circles, five words, and an arrow. Is it possible to make a business work if you don’t know everything before you start, if you have a shoe string budget and if you run into obstacles (without actually pronouncing the words “bad luck”)?

Yes, but it’s harder than you imagined. Yes, but you will have doubts. Yes, but it’s possible you will guiltily browse through job ads from time to time wondering “what if”. But yes, it’s possible to survive. Nestled between the bad luck, the creativity and your determination to wake up everyday and to stay motivated is survival.

If you survive, you are still in the game. If you are still in the game, you have a shot at making it work. If you have a shot, you are ahead of many.

Get to it.
